NextImg:Israeli father killed by Hamas moments after helping family escape home: video

An Israeli father was brutally killed while helping his loved ones escape Hamas terrorists during the Oct. 7 invasion, new video footage showed.

Ariel Livia helped his family — including what appeared to be at least two children — escape out the window of a home in the southern Israeli city of Ofakim as the attackers closed in, grainy footage shared by Israel War Room suggested.

The group can be seen running along the roof while Livia remains inside, only to subsequently tumble out the window and fall down dead, presumably shot by Hamas.

“Ariel Livia saved the lives of his relatives, including his children, by evacuating them through an exit to the roof,” Israel War Room wrote alongside the footage on X.

“He died a hero,” the group added.

Ofakim — which was home to 34,000 people — was one of several Israeli communities inundated by Hamas on Oct. 7, according to the Times of Israel.

Livia was shot after helping several family members escape.

About 50 residents were killed within five hours — the same number of violent deaths the community experienced over the last 70 years, Mayor Itsik Danino told the outlet.

The city was liberated by the Israel Defense Forces the following day — and is still recovering from the violent incursion.

“I want [the world] to know what happened to us. Those are terrorists. You need to decide who you stand with,” police officer Evyator Edry, whose parents were held hostage by Hamas in Ofakim for 19 hours, told the Times of Israel.
