The embattled younger brother of Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes wants to be able to communicate with multiple witnesses as part of a new bond amendment in his sexual battery case, according to a new report.
Jackson Mahomes, who was arrested last week for aggravated sexual battery, is seeking a modification to his bond from a Johnson County judge that would enable him “to contact four people listed as witnesses in the case,” as long as they do not speak on the matter, The Kansas City Star reports, citing a court filing.
The motion further states barring such communication “with these witnesses serves no purpose other than to further isolate” Mahomes, who was released on a $100,000 bond.
Elsewhere, the motion notes the 22-year-old social media influencer supplied the authorities with the identities of the witnesses.
Mahomes was prohibited from communicating with witnesses and the alleged victims as one of the bond conditions, according to The Kansas City Star.
The TikTok personality was charged this month with three counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of misdemeanor battery.
The charges followed a February incident at a Kansas City-area restaurant, in which Mahomes was accused of shoving a waiter and forcibly kissing the female owner of the establishment.
In footage of the alleged incident, which has since circulated on social media, a man can be seen grabbing a woman’s face and kissing her.
Brandan Davies, a lawyer for Mahomes, denied the allegations in a statement from early March.
“Jackson has done nothing wrong,” the attorney said. “Our investigation has revealed substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson’s accuser including the statements of several witnesses. We have reached out to law enforcement to provide the fruit of our investigation so that they may have a complete picture of the matter.”
Mahomes, who has been embroiled in several off-field controversies in recent years, has a court date set for Thursday.
Earlier this year, he joined his family in Arizona, where Patrick’s Chiefs defeated the Eagles in Super Bowl 2023.
