The Islanders signed college free agent center Gleb Veremyev to a two-year, entry-level deal beginning next season, the club announced Friday.

Veremyev, a native of Monroe Township, N.J., played three years at Colorado College and finished this season with nine goals and eight assists.

The 21-year-old lefty played three years of college hockey after a USHL stint with the Lincoln Stars.

At 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, Veremyev has size and solid faceoff ability.

Both his parents immigrated from Russia and Veremyev is reportedly bilingual in English and Russian.

Veremyev was seen as one of the better college free agents available this season, with Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli reporting the Bruins were among the other teams interested.

He’s the second college free agent brought in by the Islanders so far after Sacred Heart’s Max Dorrington signed an amateur tryout agreement with AHL Bridgeport on Thursday.
