NextImg:Islanders giving season-ticket holders physical tickets from historic Alex Ovechkin game — others have to pay

The Islanders are giving their season-ticket holders complimentary physical ticket stubs from Alex Ovechkin’s historic game on Sunday when he scored his 895th career goal and surpassed Wayne Gretzky as the all-time NHL goal-scorer.

Other fans, however, will need to cough up $45.

To commemorate the milestone, the Islanders offered fans inside UBS Arena the chance to print out the physical tickets by scanning a QR code shown on the video board, but plenty of people got sticker shock when the $45 charge came up on the checkout.

Now, though, the team is giving its season-ticket members the perk of printing out their tickets from Sunday’s game at no cost.

“The Islanders are thrilled to commemorate this day of hockey history at UBS Arena, are offering complimentary printed ticket stubs to all Season Ticket Members, plus a paid option that has been purchased by thousands,” the team said in a statement to The Post’s Ethan Sears.

The Islanders have continued to sell the option through their team store, Isles Lab, which fans have taken the team up on.

Ovechkin tickets are being listed on eBay and going in the hundreds of dollars, though the Islanders have not yet sent out the printed tickets.

Getting into Sunday’s game was no easy feat for hockey fans hoping to see Ovechkin make history against the Islanders.

Tickets on the secondary market for the game skyrocketed after Ovechkin had tied Gretzky’s record two nights earlier against the Blackhawks, with fans having to fork over as much as $1,664 and as little as $545 for seats in the 300s section.

StubHub had listed a ticket for as much as $10,078 in the lower bowl.

In addition to the ticket stubs, the Islanders were selling warmup pucks from Sunday’s game for $375, with the team saying that the proceeds were going to the Islanders’ Children’s Foundation.
