The first week of preseason football is officially in the books!
Who were the winners of the first week of NFL action? CBS Sports selected a few high-profile rookies who balled out — Jaxson Dart and Abdul Carter of the New York Giants, Shedeur Sanders of the Cleveland Browns, and TreVeyon Henderson of the New England Patriots — while also noting a few of the “losers” from Week 1 (the Cincinnati Bengals defense, Anthony Richardson, and Kyler Murray, to name a few).
The second week of preseason football concludes with the first (and last) Monday Night Football game of the exhibition slate as the Washington Commanders host the Cincinnati Bengals at 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN. But what about tonight?
Is there a Thursday Night Football game on tonight? When does Week 2 of the preseason start? Here’s everything you need to know.
Nope. Sorry, gang. There’s no Thursday Night Football on tonight.
There will be two Thursday night games next week (August 21) as the Carolina Panthers host the Pittsburgh Steelers at 7:00 p.m. ET on NFL Network and the New England Patriots battle the New York Giants at 8:00 p.m. ET on Prime Video.
NFL preseason action continues on Friday, August 15 with two games:
Eleven preseason games will air on Saturday, August 16, and two matchups will take place on Sunday, August 17. The first and only Monday Night Football preseason game is scheduled for Monday, August 18 (Bengals @ Commanders: 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN).
