It’s been one week since Belly (Lola Tung) and Conrad (Christopher Briney) confessed their love to each other on a train in Paris in Season 3, Episode 11, “At Last,” and our minds, hearts, and souls are still largely consumed by thoughts of The Summer I Turned Pretty.
For the past 11 Wednesdays, the Prime Video series inspired by Jenny Han’s beloved book trilogy has dominated cultural conversation, led fierce shipping debates between Team Conrad/Team Jeremiah/Team Belly fans, and provided a perfectly curated summer soundtrack. But it’s officially fall now, so is The Summer I Turned Pretty gone for good? Or will we make our triumphant return to Cousins Beach to reunite with Belly, Conrad, Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), Taylor (Rain Spencer), and Steven (Sean Kaufman) one day down the line?
Does a new episode of TSITP air this week on Prime Video? How many episodes are in TSITP Season 3? Is there a TSITP Season 3, Episode 12? And when does TSITP movie come out? We’ve got answers!
Read on for everything we know about The Summer I Turned Pretty‘s future, including Season 3’s episode count, Season 4 info, and TSITP movie premiere date info.
The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 1 was seven episodes, and Season 2 was eight episodes. But summer is lasting a little longer this year! TSITP Season 3 will consist of 11 episodes!
Since TSITP Season 3, Episode 11, “At Last,” premiered on Wednesday, September 17, there will be no new episode of TSITP on Prime Video this week. But that doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of Cousins Beach…
As noted, TSITP Season 3 was the third and final season of the Prime Video series, which means there won’t be a Season 4 of TSITP. But following the series finale, Han and Prime Video revealed that Belly, Conrad, Jeremiah, Steven, and Taylor’s stories will continue in another form…
That’s right, TSITP stans! This is not a drill! Hours after TSITP series finale premiered, Prime Video announced that The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie is coming, directed by Jenny Han, and written by Han and Sarah Kucserka.
“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due,” Han said in a statement shared via Prime Video press release. “I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”

Those who’ve read TSITP books, particularly Book 3, We’ll Always Have Summer, know the Season 3 finale omitted several crucial scenes, storylines, and an epilogue. So if you want some idea of what to expect from the movie and what that major milestone in Belly’s life is, be sure to read our TSITP Book 3 ending explained article for spoilers. While details on TSITP: The Movie are still majorly under wraps, we do have the first update on when the film is coming out, courtesy of Han herself on The Today Show.
While an official TSITP: The Movie premiere date has yet to be announced, we do know when not to expect it, and Han gave fans a clearer idea of the timeline. When asked if TSITP movie is coming out in 2026 or 2027, the creator said, “It’s still a little too soon to say… We don’t know when it’s coming out, but not next year.”
One of the major reasons TSITP: The Movie will take so long to premiere is because Han and crew haven’t started filming yet. “We still have to make it,” Han said. For those wondering how far along the project is, she also gave an update on TSITP movie’s writing process, sharing, “Sarah Kucserka, my co-showrunner, and I have finished a draft. So we’re shuffling along.”

Aside from Conrad and Belly’s endgame TSITP Season 3 finale also set up several new storylines and relationships that can be explored in the movie, including “Christmas in Paris,” Steven/Taylor/Denise’s move to San Francisco, Jeremiah and Denise’s romance, Jere’s culinary career, Laurel and John’s connection, and more. While we wait for more details on TSITP: The Movie, be sure to catch up on Decider’s in-depth Season 3 coverage and consider a good old rewatch.
