It feels like forever since The View has aired a new episode. Now that Christmas has passed, we can’t help but wonder: has the hit daytime talk show been canceled? Luckily, we have you covered on everything you need to know!
The last time we saw Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin was on Friday, Dec. 15, when they rang in the holiday season with the help of Jessica Chastain and Peter Sarsgaard. Since then, ABC has been playing repeat episodes from Season 27 — with the exception of Christmas Day’s episode, which was pre-empted for the network’s annual Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade.
So, why exactly is The View off the air today? When will it be back with new episodes?
We have the answers to all of your burning questions. Keep reading for more information.
No, The View was not canceled. The show is simply on holiday hiatus this week, with no new episodes airing from Dec. 18 through Dec. 29. The break comes just in time for Christmas and New Year’s, giving the co-hosts an extended leave to spend time with their loved ones.
Since the ladies are on vacation for the holidays, it looks like The View won’t return until after the new year.

The View might not be airing new episodes for the rest of this week, but ABC will be playing reruns, meaning you can catch up on anything you might’ve missed!
Here’s the lineup of episodes that will air while the ladies are taking their break, courtesy of ABC. It should be noted that the episodes are subject to change.
