My Wife, My Abuser: The Secret Footage is a disturbing documentary about a man named Richard Spencer who endured decades of abuse while married to wife Sheree.

While married to Sheree for 20 years, Richard was the subject of alleged physical and emotional abuse, including spitting and punching him and leaving bruises on his body. The shocking footage was captured on nanny cams in the couple’s home, which they shared with three daughters.

Sheree also allegedly financially abused Richard, and, per RadioTimes, threatened to lie to the police about him if he tried to come forward about the abuse he was enduring.

The feature-length documentary was produced for Channel 5 in the United Kingdom and originally aired in March, but will it be available for viewers in the United States?

Here’s what you need to know about how to watch My Wife, My Abuser.

My Wife, My Abuser is available on Netflix — but only if you live in the U.K. The film has been turned into a two-part series now called My Wife, My Abuser: Captured On Camera and just recently arrived on the platform. At this time, the documentary is unavailable on Netflix in the U.S. and there is no scheduled release date for it.

My Wife, My Abuser is still available to stream online in its full-length feature format on Britain’s Channel 5. You can find the film here, but you’ll need a VPN to change your location to the U.K., and then create a free account on the Channel 5 website to gain access. You can also tune in to the Netflix version and the Apple TV+ version with a VPN.

The original trailer for My Wife, My Abuser features footage from the day that police apprehended Sheree Spencer in her home after her abuse had been reported to authorities. You can catch it here.
