Frank Grillo is bringing some lycanthropy to this holiday season with his new movie Werewolves, opening in theaters this weekend.

Directed by Steven C. Miller, with a screenplay by Matthew Kennedy, Werewolves is an action horror movie about, well, werewolves. No false advertising here! Frank Grillo stars as Wesley Marshall, a rugged action hero who must fight a lot of werewolves. Why are there so many? Because a supermoon caused a mass transformation of any human exposed to the moonlight. Now the next supermoon is here, and another bloodbath is expected.

Also starring Katrina Law, Ilfenesh Hadera, James Michael Cummings, and Lou Diamond Phillips, Werewolves promises some fun, gory, dumb action. What better Christmas present could you ask for?

For now, Werewolves will only be available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in select theaters in the U.S. on Friday, December 6. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. Werewolves is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.

Werewolves is not streaming on Netflix or Prime Video right now. While it’s possible Werewolves may stream on Netflix someday, it won’t be until after the theatrical run and digital release of the movie. Werewolves is not a Netflix original—it’s a small, independent film being distributed by Briarcliff Entertainment. Another Briarcliff Entertainment movie, The Hill, did eventually stream on Netflix, about five months after it opened in theaters, so it is possible you’ll see Werewolves on Netflix someday. But many other Briarcliff Entertainment movies never streamed on Netflix. There’s not enough data for an accurate prediction at this time.

You will be able to purchase Werewolves on Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, but you will not be able to stream Werewolves on Prime Video free with a Prime subscription, because it is not a Prime original movie. If you want to watch Werewolves movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms.

The Werewolves movie digital release date has not yet been announced. However, we can make an educated guess as to when we might see Werewolves on video-on-demand, based on the digital release of previous films from this studio, Briarcliff Entertainment.

Another Briarcliff Entertainment movie, The Apprentice, was released in theaters on October 11, and was released on digital platforms on November 1—aka, about three weeks after opening in theaters. If Werewolves follows a similar pattern, you might see Werewolves movie on video-on-demand in about three weeks, around December 27, 2024.

But this is all speculation. Digital releases vary by title. If you want to see Werewolves right away, you can catch the movie in a theater.
