Let’s hope the third time is the charm, because there is yet another Fantastic Four movie coming to theaters this weekend, making it the fourth Fantastic Four film overall, and the second time the series has been rebooted with a brand-new cast. (Remember when Chris Evans was Human Torch, instead of Captain America?)
The 2025 Fantastic Four movie, aka The Fantastic Four: First Steps, was directed by Matt Shakman and written by Josh Friedman, Eric Pearson, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer, based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name. Pedro Pascal takes the lead as the stretchy Mr. Fantastic himself, while Vanessa Kirby stars as Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach stars as the voice of The Thing, and Joseph Quinn stars as Human Torch. Other supporting cast include Julia Garner, Natasha Lyonne, Paul Walter Hauser, and Ralph Ineson.
Rather than an origin story, this Fantastic Four movie finds our team of superheroes already together in a parallel universe, where it’s kinda, sorta the 1960s. Marvel fans don’t want to miss out, so here’s what to know about where to watch the 2025 Fantastic Four movie and when we expect to be able to watch The Fantastic Four: First Steps streaming on Disney+.
Right now, the only place to watch The Fantastic Four: First Steps is in a movie theater, when the movie opens in theaters on Friday, July 25. You can find a showing at a movie theater near you via Fandango.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is not streaming on Netflix, and most likely will never be streaming on Netflix. This is due to the fact that The Fantastic Four: First Steps is a Marvel movie. Marvel is owned by Disney, and Disney movies have a streaming home on the Disney-owned streamer, Disney+.
Disney+ offers a number of subscription options, so you can find the one that works for you. With ads, a subscription costs $9.99/month; without ads, it’s $15.99/month or $159.99/year.
There are also Disney+ bundles with Hulu, Max, and ESPN+, so you can subscribe to up to three services at once and save over 40% every month. The bundles are available in a few different configurations, starting at $10.99/month for Disney+ and Hulu with ads, and going up to $29.99/month for Disney+, Hulu, and Max ad-free.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is not yet streaming on Disney+. Right now, the movie is only playing in theaters. That said, we do expect to see The Fantastic Four: First Steps streaming on Disney+ eventually. While The Fantastic Four: First Steps Disney+ release date has not yet been announced, we can make an educated guess as to when the movie will be streaming based on previous Disney releases.
Another recent Disney Marvel movie, Captain America: Brave New World, was released on premium video-on-demand about two months after opening in theaters, and began streaming on Disney+ about three-and-a-half months after opening in theaters. If The Fantastic Four: First Steps follows a similar release strategy, you may see the 2025 Fantastic Four movie on digital platforms around late September 2025, and streaming on Disney+ around early November 2025.
But this is all speculation. If you want to see The Fantastic Four: First Steps ASAP, you can catch the movie in theaters.
