Vroom! That’s the sound of the new F1 movie that’s zooming into theaters this weekend.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski (who is best known for his record-breaking flick Top Gun: Maverick), with a screenplay written by Ehren Kruger, this sports drama stars Brad Pitt as a former Formula One race car driver named Sonny, whose career was cut short by injury. These days, Sonny makes a living gambling and driving cabs in New York City. When an old friend (Javier Bardem) calls up Sonny to get him out of retirement, Sonny gets a second chance at the sport he loves. But he’ll have to deal with the young, arrogant driver named Noah (Damson Idris) as his rival.
Also starring Kerry Condon and Tobias Menzies, F1 will no doubt be a fast-paced, fun time for car racing enthusiasts everywhere. Read on to find out where to watch the F1 movie and when we expect to be able to watch the F1 movie streaming on Apple TV+.
For now, F1 will only available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in the U.S. on Friday, June 27. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. F1 is not yet available to watch online or on streaming, but we do expect to see F1 streaming on Apple TV+ eventually.
FI is not streaming on Netflix and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is being produced by Apple, and will have a streaming home at Apple TV+. Read on to find out what we know about the F1 Apple TV+ streaming release date.
Apple TV+ comes with a seven-day free trial for new subscribers and has just one ad-free streaming plan available for $9.99/month.
FI is not yet streaming on Apple TV+. Right now, the movie is only in theaters, and the F1 Apple TV+ release date has not yet been announced. That said, we can make an educated guess as to when FI will stream on Apple TV+ based on previous Apple releases in theaters.
The last Apple movie that opened theaters ahead of streaming, Fly Me To the Moon (distributed in theaters via Sony), was released via video-on-demand about one month after opening in theaters, and began streaming on Apple TV+ about five months after opening in theaters. If F1 (which is being distributed in theaters by Warner Bros.) follows the same release pattern, you might see the F1 movie on digital around late July 2025, and you might see the F1 movie streaming on Apple TV+ around late November 2025.
But this is all speculation. If you want to watch the F1 movie ASAP, your best bet is to go see the movie in theaters.
