Don’t cry because summer over, smile because spooky season has begun. And Hollywood is kicking off the season with the release of The Conjuring: Last Rites, aka The Conjuring 4, opening in theaters this weekend.

Directed by Michael Chaves, with a screenplay written by Ian Goldberg, this is the ninth—and supposedly final—movie in the Conjuring franchise, and the fourth Conjuring movie starring Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as the real-life paranormal investigators/con artists Ed and Lorraine Warren. It serves as a direct sequel to 2021 The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, also directed by Chaves, and will feature the Warrens taking on one last supernatural case that will “end it all.” Mia Tomlinson also stars as Judy Warren, Ed and Lorraine’s daughter, while Ben Hardy play Tony Spera, Judy’s boyfriend.

If this really is the end of the road for Ed and Lorraine, then you don’t want to miss it. Read on to find out where to watch The Conjuring: Last Rites and when we expect to be able to watch The Conjuring: Last Rights on streaming.

Right now, The Conjuring: Last Rites is only available to watch in a movie theater when it opens in theaters on Friday, September 5. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. However, we do expect The Conjuring: Last Rites movie to be on streaming eventually.

The Conjuring: Last Rites is not streaming on Netflix and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon, due to the fact that the film is a Warner Bros. release, will have a streaming home on the Warner Bros.-owned streaming service, HBO Max. If you want to watch the new Conjuring movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for it to stream on HBO Max.

If you’re new to HBO Max, you can sign up for as low as $9.99/month with ads, but an ad-free subscription will cost $16.99/month. If you subscribe via Prime Video, you can also take advantage of a seven-day free trial.

If you want to stream even more and save a few bucks a month while you’re at it, we recommend subscribing to one of the discounted Disney+ Bundles with Hulu and HBO Max. With ads, the bundle costs $16.99/month and without ads, $29.99/month.

All the new WB theatrical movies end up streaming on Max, though the wait period has varied by title. Final Destination Bloodlines for example, was released on PVOD about one month after opening in theaters, and began streaming on HBO Max on August 1, about two-and-a-half months after it was released in theaters. If The Conjuring: Last Rites follows a similar release pattern, you may see the movie on digital around early September 2025, and streaming on Max around late October 2025—perhaps even a little earlier, if HBO Max wants to capitalize on spooky season.

That said, other WB movies, like Mickey 17 and A Minecraft Movie, took closer to three months to stream on HBO Max. So you may have to wait a little longer for The Conjuring: Last Rites.

But that’s pure speculation. The Warner Bros. home releases have varied by title. If you want to see the new Conjuring movie ASAP, your best is to catch it in theaters.
