NextImg:Is ‘Somewhere in Queens’ Streaming on HBO Max or Netflix?

More On:

Ray Romano

Ray Romano is making his directorial debut with Somewhere in Queens a new dramedy in which he also wrote, produced and stars. Luckily, we have you covered on all the ways you can watch this flick!

The movie follows teenage basketball star Sticks (Jacob Ward) who plans to work for his father Leo’s (Romano) construction company after high school — a plan that’s changed as soon as he’s presented with the opportunity for a basketball scholarship.

However, when Sticks’ girlfriend breaks up with him, his heartbreak threatens his newfound path, prompting his father to go to great measures to make sure he gets back on track.

So where can you stream Somewhere in Queens? Is it on Netflix? What about HBO Max?

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming movie:

As of now, the only way to watch Somewhere in Queens is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, April 21. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube or Apple.

While a digital release date for Somewhere in Queens has not yet been announced, we can make an educated guess based on a previously released Lionsgate movie.

Plane, which premiered on Jan. 13, came to digital platforms on Feb. 3 — about three weeks after it was released in theaters. If Somewhere in Queens follows the same trajectory, we could be watching it from the comfort of our living rooms by late May 2023.

No, Somewhere in Queens will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Warner Bros. movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between theatrical release and the streaming release.

While Somewhere in Queens could potentially come to Netflix in the future, there has been no announcement about any plans for it to join the streaming giant following its theatrical run. In the meantime, you’ll just have to head out to a movie theater or wait for it to become available on digital.
