Starring Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi, Selfiee is the Hindi-language remake of the 2019 Malayalam-language dramedy Driver’s License.
When a cop/superfan promises his son he’ll get a selfie with a famous actor, he concocts a plan where he summons the celebrity to obtain his driver’s license. However, things go awry when the actor lashes out on the fan, who ultimately leads a takedown of his idol.
So how can you watch Selfiee? Is it on HBO Max? What about Netflix? Here’s everything we know about the movie:
As of now, the only way to watch Selfiee is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, Feb. 24. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms.
While a digital release for Selfiee has not yet been announced, most movies typically become available to rent or buy around 45 days after their theatrical releases. If this film follows the same trajectory, you may be able to watch from the comfort of your home by April 2023.
However, it may take longer as other Star Studios films like Tadap (2021) eventually made their way onto Disney+ Hotstar instead. Although it hasn’t been announced whether Selfiee will join the other movies on the streaming platform, it is certainly something to keep an eye out for!
No, Selfiee will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Warner Bros. movie. The company announced last year that they would no longer send their theatrical films directly to the streamer. Instead, they’ve implemented a 45-day window between theatrical premieres and HBO Max releases.
No, Selfiee will not be on Netflix — at least not any time soon. While it’s possible the thriller may come to the streamer at some point in the future, you’ll just have to head out to a movie theater or wait for it to become available on digital platforms in the meantime.
As of now, it hasn’t been announced whether or not Selfiee will be on Prime Video. If we were to make a guess, the movie could become available to rent or purchase on the platform within 45 days. However, it could take a little longer since most Star Studios films eventually land Disney+ Hotstar after their theatrical run.
