The first preseason football game of the 2025 season took place on Thursday, July 31 as the Los Angeles Chargers dismantled the Detroit Lions 34-7 in the Hall of Fame Game. The star of the show was former top-three pick Trey Lance, who went 13 for 20 and threw two touchdowns as he tries to secure the backup quarterback position for the Bolts.
Preseason football can not only be a low-stakes way to relax, but it can also provide valuable insight for fantasy football and future bets. With one preseason game in the books, Trey Lance should be the first QB off the board in your fantasy draft, and we already bet the Chargers to win the Super Bowl.
Kidding. But I may or may not have purchased a few cheap Trey Lance rookie cards on Thursday night.
