Powered by Reelgood

After a week off, Doctor Odyssey is back and setting sail on the high seas with some incredible guest stars!

This week, the Joshua Jackson ABC procedural resumes and welcomes notable names aboard The Odyssey for another week of unbelievable fun and craziness.

The show — which follows the lives and cases encountered by the medical crew working aboard a luxury cruise ship — will pick up this week after the events of “Halloween Week,” which saw Tristan (Sean Teale) falling ill from carbon dioxide poisoning. That malady came after Avery (Phillipa Soo) had to go under the knife held by Dr. Max (Joshua Jackson) in the middle of a storm due to a ruptured appendix.

Two weeks before that, it was the ship’s leader, Captain Robert (Don Johnson), who had a medical emergency when he collapsed on a date with a “Glamma” — a glam grandma played by Shania Twain — who was on board for “Singles Week” with her own granddaughter.

Will this week’s episode, “I Always Cry At Weddings,” see Dr. Max have a medical emergency or will we hold out another week until he ultimately collapses and relies on the crew to rescue him? Considering it was a near-death experience that brought him to the ship in the first place, we can all but expect to see some kind of health issue sideline him before the season is done.

As for whether or not it will be Episode 6 is still to be determined. As for what we do now about the newest episode in the series — including who is guest starring and what time the new episode comes out — keep reading.

Yes, Doctor Odyssey‘s sixth episode, “I Always Cry At Weddings,” will air at 9 pm local. This is the first new episode since “Halloween Week” on Oct. 24.

Yes, from promotional photos we know that Margo Martindale, Kelsea Ballerini, and Rick Cosnett will all be appearing in Episode 6. Cosnett also appeared in Episode 4, “Wellness Week,” as Corey, the head of housekeeping on the boat.

It’s the latest star-filled episode after the season has already featured appearances from Amy Sedaris, Margaret Cho, Rachel Dratch, Chord Overstreet, Kate Berlant, and more.

Based on an episode summary, this week sees the continuation of romantic storylines for the crew members — potentially Dr. Max and Avery or Tristan and Vivian (Laura Harrier) — and another round of over-the-top passengers.

“When a wealthy family charters The Odyssey for a weeklong wedding cruise, all eyes are on the ‘bridezilla’ as she wreaks havoc on board. Amid the chaos, love and lust manage to find their way through the air with sparks flying among the crew,” the description reads.

We also know from photos and trailers that Ballerini will be playing the bride, although Cosnett and Martindale’s roles have yet to be revealed.

Yes! Earlier this week, ABC began broadcasting a 30-second trailer for the episode, which features a rash-like outbreak, a groom with seemingly cold feet (and potentially a real medical condition to worry about), and Ballerini as a tearful bride-to-be.

“I’m getting married,” Ballerini yells out in a short snippet before the video ends with her declaring, “This is all my fault.”

Episodes of Doctor Odyssey stream Friday mornings on Hulu, typically with a release time around 5 am EST.
