NextImg:Is 'Dexter: Resurrection' airing a new episode this week?

My algorithm must have known I was missing Dexter: Resurrection because it’s been serving me countless Dexter-related videos.

The official Dexter YouTube page has a ton of fun compilations from the original series. Many of them are what you’d expect — the best of Dexter vs. Doakes, the evolution of Dexter and The Trinity Killer — but they also have a slew of unique titles like “Best Of Dexter Attempting To Be Normal” and “Dexter Telling Lies For 23 Minutes Straight.” But what about Dexter: Resurrection?

The newest installment of the franchise has been met with near-universal acclaim, with the show currently boasting a 95% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes. What does the future have in store for Dexter and Harrison? Will there be a second season of Dexter: Resurrection? Here’s everything we know.

The first season consists of ten episodes.

Nope. The season finale premiered Friday, September 5 on Paramount+.

Not yet. The series finale premiered September 5 on Paramount+, so there’s still plenty of time for a second season renewal announcement.

Another popular Paramount+ series, Landman, concluded on January 12, 2025, with the Season 2 announcement taking place in March 2025.

As we mentioned above, there’s no official news about a second season, but we fully expect Dexter: Resurrection to be back for Season 2. The series not only had strong ratings — the premiere drew 4.4 million multiplatform viewers in its first seven days, per Variety — but the show’s been met with extremely positive reviews from both critics and fans. Without getting into spoiler territory, the Season 1 finale also set up the probable antagonist for Season 2, so all signs point to more Dexter.

Per Deadline, Paramount Global canceled the Dexter prequel Original Sin and commissioned a writers’ room for a second season of Resurrection. The show’s probable renewal is said to be contingent on budget approvals.

If the series does score another season, we expect it to premiere in the spring or summer of 2026.

Dexter: Resurrection is available on Paramount+ Premium, which you can purchase for $12.99/month. From now until September 18, a Paramount+ Premium annual plan is only $59.99 for the first year.

You can also add Paramount Plus Premium to your Prime Video or Hulu account for an extra $12.99/month. New subscribers can sample the streamer on Amazon with a seven-day free trial.
