NextImg:Is ‘Bottoms’ Streaming on Netflix, Max, or Amazon Prime Video?

It feels like forever since Hollywood released a new teen sex comedy. But we won’t have to wait much longer now that Bottoms is coming to theaters this weekend. Luckily, we have you covered on all the ways you can watch this flick!

Directed by Emma Seligman, Bottoms follows two unpopular queer teenagers — played by Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri — who start a “fight club” as a tactic to lose their virginity to cheerleaders before their high school graduation.

So when will Bottoms be on streaming? Will it be on Max? What about Netflix?

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming movie:

As of now, the only way to watch Bottoms is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, Aug. 25. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube and Apple.

Unfortunately, there is no digital release date for Bottoms — yet. Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant, another recent Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film, came to digital platforms like Amazon Prime Video about 45 days after its theatrical release. If Bottoms follows the same pattern, you might be able to rent or purchase it by Sept. 8 at the earliest.

But if it sticks to the 45-day standard that most movies follow, it might not be available on digital until early October 2023.

No, Bottoms will not be on Max since it’s not a Warner Bros. movie. The platform — previously known as HBO Max — also no longer does direct-to-streaming releases. Instead, they’ve implemented a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the Max release.

No, Bottoms will not be on Netflix — at least not anytime soon. In the meantime, you’ll just have to head out to a movie theater or wait for it to become available on digital platforms.
