CBS’ new soap opera Beyond the Gates has made quite the splash since it debuted this February.
The drama, which is being hailed as network television’s first daytime soap opera with a predominantly Black cast, is set in a posh gated community where the Duprees are in power. But this powerful and prestigious multi-generational family have their own secrets to hide. And those who are dying to get into this high society are watching closely.
According to CBS’ daytime ratings, the soap opera averaged 1.82 million viewers since its debut earlier this year. It has also earned an eagle-eyed fanbase who immediately noticed when the network stopped airing new episodes of the show as scheduled, leaving them to wonder if the hit series has been canceled.
So, has CBS canceled Beyond the Gates? Why aren’t new episodes of Beyond the Gates airing this week?

The short answer is no, Beyond the Gates has not been canceled. In fact, the daytime drama has already been renewed for a second season.
CBS made the unique choice of re-airing the first five episodes of the series the week of June 30, likely because of the Fourth of July holiday on Friday.
Series creator Michele Val Jean confirmed the news with a post on X in which she said the decision was “above my pay grade.”
Beyond the Gates will return with new episodes beginning Monday, July 7, according to Parade.
Fans can also catch up on the series by streaming it on Paramount+ before it returns with new episodes.
New episodes of Beyond the Gates air weekdays on CBS at 2 p.m. EST and 1 p.m. PT.
