NextImg:Is 'Babes' streaming on Netflix or HBO Max?

Michelle Buteau and Ilana Glazer star as childhood best friends in the new comedy Babes, which is coming to theaters this week. Luckily, we have you covered on all the ways you can watch this flick!

Babes follows Eden (Glazer), a carefree and single woman who gets pregnant from a one-night stand and decides to keep the baby. She ultimately turns to her lifelong BFF Dawn (Buteau), a married mother of two, to help her through the “messy, unpredictable challenges of adulthood and becoming a parent,” according to the film’s logline.

So, where can you watch Babes? Is it on Max? What about Netflix?

Here’s everything we know about the upcoming movie:

As of now, the only way to watch Babes is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, May 17. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait until it becomes available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Vudu, Apple, YouTube and Amazon or available to stream on Hulu. Read on for more information.

Yes, Babes will eventually be available to stream on Hulu due to a deal penned between the streaming platform and Neon, which is distributing the film in the United States. While a release date has not yet been announced, we can make an estimate based on another film that was distributed by the production company.

It Lives Inside, which premiered Sept. 22, 2023, officially came to Hulu on Dec. 29 — about three months after it debuted in theaters. If Babes follows the same trajectory, the movie could join the platform by mid-August 2024.

No, Babes will not be on Max — previously known as HBO Max — since it’s not a Warner Bros. movie.

No, Babes will not be on Netflix — at least not any time soon. While it’s possible the movie may come to the streamer at some point in the future, you’ll just have to head out to a theater or wait for it to become available on Hulu in the meantime.
