Andor Season 2 came to an emotional close last night, wrapping up the saga of how Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) became one of the most important spies in the Rebel Alliance. For two seasons, we’ve watched the character evolve from displaced orphan boy “Kassa” to Ferrix-bred thief and reluctant revolutionary to a true believer and front line fighter for the cause. So what happens after the Andor Season 2 finale? Are Cassian’s adventures over? Or will Disney+ continue to make more seasons of its critically-acclaimed hit?
Will there be an Andor Season 3?
Andor first hit Disney+ back in 2022. The show was intended as a prequel to the gritty Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. In that film, Lucasfilm attempted to sketch out the story of the spies who initially stole the first Death Star plans, leading to the whole plot of the original Star Wars film. Rogue One scribe Tony Gilroy created Andor to further explore the character of Rebel Intelligence Officer Cassian Andor and the grotesque fascist grip the Galactic Empire had on the Star Wars universe.
Andor is universally considered to be one of the best Star Wars projects ever made, deepening our understanding of everyday life in the Empire and featuring some of the best television performances in history. So will Andor continue past Season 2? How many seasons of Andor will there be?
Here’s everything you need to know about the future of Andor on Disney+…

No, there will not be an Andor Season 3 on Disney+. Andor Season 2 is the final season of the Star Wars show.
Andor was originally pitched as a five season show, but Diego Luna and showrunner Tony Gilroy rethought this plan when they realized how long it would take to make five seasons.
“It is the final season because it takes two years and a half to make one season,” Luna explained on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “I cannot fire a blaster for another ten years.”

There will only be two seasons of Andor on Disney+.
That means that last night’s Andor Season 2 finale was actually the series finale.
Andor Season 2 takes place over the four years that lead up to the events of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. (Episodes 1-3 are set four years before Luke Skywalker blows up the Death Star, Episodes 4-6 are set three years before, Episodes 7-9 are set two years prior, and the last three episodes occur in the run up to the Battle of Yavin.)
Andor Season 2 Episode 12 literally ends right before Rogue One: A Star Wars Story starts. That is the movie that originally introduced the characters of Cassian Andor and K-2SO. Rogue One shows us exactly what happens to Cassian next.
