From the same studio that brought Sound of Freedom comes After Death — a documentary that explores what happens after we die. Luckily, we have all the ways you can watch this new flick!
After Death begs the question of whether there is life after death, using real near-death experiences, “conveyed by scientists, authors, and survivors,” per the logline. The film — which is distributed by the faith-based Angel Studios — opens this weekend in over 2,600 theaters and has already found success having pre-sold more than 211,000 tickets, according to Deadline.
“Life can be short. My hope is that after watching After Death, it causes audiences to reflect and consider all of the evidence,” director Stephen Gray told the outlet. “Movies have a unique ability to help shape culture and this film allows us all to explore what happens when we die. We want everyone to come away feeling valued with a renewed sense of hope, that their life has meaning.”
So where can you watch After Death? Is it on Prime video? What about Netflix?
Here’s everything we know about the new movie:
As of now, the only way to watch After Death is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, Oct. 27. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait until it becomes available to rent or purchase on digital platforms or stream on Angel.com. Read on for more information.
After Death will likely come to digital platforms like Vudu, Apple, YouTube, and Amazon Prime Video in the future. Sound of Freedom, another film distributed by Angel Studios, released in theaters on July 4 and is set to join digital on Nov. 3 — about four months after it debuted. If After Death follows the same strategy, you may not be able to rent or purchase it until late February 2023.
Plus, films distributed by Angel Studios typically go to the company’s streaming platform on Angel.com. While some of its content is available to stream for free, other titles require a subscription, which costs $20 per month or $175 per year.
No, After Death will not be on Netflix — at least not any time soon. While it’s possible the film may come to the streamer at some point in the future, you’ll just have to head out to a movie theater or wait for it to become available on digital platforms in the meantime.
