In “Winter Show” we watched Barbara (Sheryl Lee Ralph) and her students put on a holiday extravaganza, plus, we finally met Jacob’s (Chris Perfetti) brother (Tyler Perez). Then in “Winter Break,” we saw Mr. Johnson (William Stanford Davis) dress as Santa Claus, Melissa (Lisa Ann Walter) host her mother (Talia Shire) and family for the holidays, and Ava (Janelle James) bond with Janine (Quinta Brunson) and Gregory (Tyler James Williams) on Christmas eve. Were the two episodes packed with enough comedic brilliance to last us until 2025? Sure. But that doesn’t mean we’re happy about another break from school.

Back in July at San Diego Comic-Con, Brunson revealed that Abbott Elementary “will be doing an interesting crossover” that “will change television as we know it.” On October 3, fans learned the iconic crossover wiykd be with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and we can’t wait to see what shenanigans the critically-acclaimed comedies have in store.
“You can expect something fun. If you watch Abbott and you are not aware of this other show, that’s OK. You’re just going to be seeing a regular Abbott episode of television, but if you happen to be a fan of this other show you’re going to be screaming your head off, I think,” Brunson told ABC News’ Robin Roberts. “It’s exciting. It’s invigorating to do something cool like this on TV again… It’s gonna be cool.”
With eight episodes down after Abbott Elementary‘s exciting winter event, fans may be wondering how many episodes are left in Season 4. In response to delays and schedule shifts from the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, Abbott Elementary Season 3 was an abbreviated 14-episode season, but fans will be happy to know that Season 4 is returning to the 22-episode model, which means there’s lots more Abbott to come in the new year.
