If you’re sick of looking at the same Netflix home page every time you search for something to watch, there’s a secret solution.
Turns out, the streaming giant has been hiding a huge list of titles not shared on the main platform that users can find in a secret menu.
The hidden list can be accessed using codes that correlate with very specific genres and sub-genres including Deep Sea Horror, Irreverent TV Comedies and 90-minute movies.
The numerical codes represent different categories that have been stored away in the depths of Netflix’s library of “secret category codes.”
Netflix’s main home menu is individualized from an algorithm that uses viewing history data and user interests.
There are two ways to access the secret menu: If using a desktop, you type “netflix.com/browse/genre/” into the URL and add the code you want at the end. On a TV, you simply type the code into the search bar.
The secret titles can’t be accessed on tablet or mobile.
Netflix has recently made headlines after it lost subscribers in the first half of 2022 due to competition from other streamers, prompting it to crack down on password sharing and launch an ad-supported plan.
