**Spoilers ahead for the first episode of Peacemaker Season 2**

James Gunn is certainly not new to sex scenes — or at the very least some implied spicy scenes — in his DC projects; heaven knows Season 1 of Peacemaker had some bits that could be considered NSFW. But what takes place in Season 2 Episode 1 of Peacemaker, “The Ties That Grind,” is on another level.

In the first episode of the sophomore season, after a tough confrontation with Harcourt (Jennifer Holland), Peacemaker (John Cena), saddened by her saying there’s nothing between them, Cena’s character goes back to his own house, snorts a horse-sized dose of cocaine, and throws an epic orgy complete with enough naked bodies to rival some of Game of Thrones‘ kinkiest moments.

In the scene, not only does Peacemaker double down and give us confirmation of his bisexual king label — or hey, maybe he’s not into labels and that’s okay — but he also shows that the superhero genre can absolutely embrace the sultry.

In honor of the odd and disturbingly sexy scene from the new season of Peacemaker, here are four other scenes from across comic book-inspired projects that will have you feeling a type of way…

1. Okay, hear me out, this one isn’t the hottest sex scene on the list, but it does get a spot here for being the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s first official sex scene. Considering it took us 26 movies chock full of innuendo and references, I think we can comfortably say that the gentle and beautiful hanky-panky (it feels so weird using words like “gentle” and “beautiful” in the same sentence as “hanky panky”) between Ikaris (Richard Madden) and Sesi (Gemma Chan) is a new favorite. And while we’re on the subject of Eternals, I still believe it’s an incredible movie and one day the rest of the world will see the vision. Chloe Zhao, I ride for you!

2. An oldie but a goodie! Long before the days of modern Marvel movies, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) were getting it on in the FOX X-Men universe, albeit briefly. In X-Men: The Last Stand, the two characters have an interaction that leads to a passionate makeout scene and, well, you know what comes next. The scene happens to be one of the most titillating from the franchise and a quick scroll on social media will yield plenty of fan edits devoted to the two fan-favorite characters. One video even calls the scene a “canon event” for MCU fans everywhere and we couldn’t agree more.

3. Honestly, you can never go wrong with a classic like the sex montage from Deadpool. There’s a reason this one will always make the cut for me on not only the list of best superhero sex scenes, but best sex scenes overall. Not only is the chemistry between Wade (Ryan Reynolds) and Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) palpable from cut to cut, it’s one of the most fun sex scenes in a movie. Watching these two make like rabbits around the calendar and go at it from any and every angle, honestly, it’s an inspiration to holiday lovers and sex fiends alike.

4. We’ve had an oldie but a goodie, what about a newie and a goodie? Does that make sense? Not sure. What I do know is that when I sat down to watch Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+, I was not expecting to get something as hot as a shower sex scene out of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox). I know the Disney+ brand was expanding its horizons but to say I was surprised by the steamy (pun fully intended) scene involving Matt and Heather (Margarita Levieva) is an understatement. Here’s hoping Season 2 brings even more scenes like this — hey, maybe even with Jen Walters (Tatiana Maslany) since we know those two… well, know each other.
