From in-universe dance numbers to fan-made edits on TikTok, gothic tunes and Netflix’s hit horror-comedy Wednesday go hand-in-hand. Recently, a certain morbid song in Wednesday’s Season 2 soundtrack titled “I Walked with a Zombie” has been dominating the hearts and eardrums of fans everywhere. Read on to find out how to give the song a listen.
Even with only Part 1 available to watch, Wednesday Season 2 has a lot going on. Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) has to deal with unwanted attention, a creepy stalker, her meddling mother Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), and psychic powers that are beginning to go haywire. And, of course, there’s the crow-manipulating killer she has to unmask before her werewolf roommate Enid (Emma Myers) is murdered.
But Wednesday isn’t the only one dealing with a crisis. On his first day of school at Nevermore Academy, Wednesday’s brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) reawakens a zombie. After naming the rotting corpse “Slurp,” Pugsley cares for him like his very own demented pet while making sure that he doesn’t get discovered. In Episode 3, Pugsley smuggles Slurp into Camp Jericho using a large coffin-suitcase. Roky Erickson’s “I Walked with a Zombie” plays over this sequence as Pugsley is, surprise-surprise, walking with a zombie.

The Wednesday soundtrack isn’t known for being subtle, but it is known for introducing its fans to classic anthems of the goth scene. Take the viral school dance scene in Season 1 for instance, which was set to The Cramps’ “Goo Goo Muck.” Here’s how to give Wednesday Season 2’s freshest spooky tune a listen.
You can listen to Erickson’s Halloween-coded track individually on music streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music. The song is also available on other platforms like YouTube, Audiomack, and Shazam. If you want to listen to the song within the context of other tunes from and inspired by Wednesday, look no further than the official Wednesday playlist, now available on Spotify.
