What if I say I’m not like the others?
A summer camp counselor shared the unusual rock-inspired names of a set of triplets to Reddit, claiming that somehow “everyone matches their name to a T.”
User LeninaCrowneIn2020 posted a picture Sunday of three laminated name tags, for Ryatt, Rayge, and Kathleen.
The Post has contacted the poster for comment.
Fellow users couldn’t help but react to the interesting monikers, including one who said the childcare employee was “so lucky you get to see Rayge against the Kathleen this summer!”
“I heard it’s going to be such a Ryatt!” LeninaCrowneIn2020 responded.
“So they were going for ‘Rage’ and ‘Riot’… and then just threw Kathleen in there for fun?” another wondered.
LeninaCrowne replied, claiming to have actually asked the triplets’ parents, a lesbian couple, about their names.
The counselor reported they were anticipating three boys, so they didn’t “have a punk rock name and couldn’t think of one” for the girl.
“Rebel was right there! Or Rebyl maybe?” one person suggested.
Kathleen is apparently named in honor of a family member.
“They were very open to questions, apparently I’m ‘not the first one to wonder about it.’ Imagine that lol,” the employee laughed.
“Poor kid. Imagine having to go through your whole life named Kathleen,” one user joked about the outlier.
Due to her traditional name, another user hoped that: “Kathleen is the biggest troublemaker, and the boys are just very docile.”
LeninaCrowne responded: “It’s only been a week, but so far everyone matches their name to a T and I’m scaredcited for the next 12 weeks.”
Other users took the post as an opportunity to reflect on other rare names they’ve come across.
One shared: “I knew a family of two boys and a girl. The boys were Rage and Chaos. Their little sister was Harmony.”
“I’ve met a Layke and Sneaux (snow) last summer… Poor Sneaux,” another claimed.
“Friend told me she wanted to name her daughter Ruthless (Ruth for short). I think she’s grown out of that, thankfully,” someone else wrote.
Also on Reddit, a mom shared she is facing a dilemma, as she wants to change her young daughter’s name, but is scared of what other people will say.
