The most stressful trip ????????⬇️ We went to the airport to catch our Ryanair flight to Spain yesterday morning, only to be told my husband wouldn’t be allowed to fly???? We had already checked in online and entered all our passport details with no problem, but when we got to the bag drop we were told my husbands passport has expired and he wouldn’t be allowed to travel. The expiry date on his passport is March 2025 – 8 months from now???? The rules changed when we left the EU so the extension on our passports is now no longer valid, so you have 10 years from ISSUE date, rather than what the expiry date says! However Jet2 allow passengers to travel still???? so he was allowed to get a Jet2 flight the following morning to join us. I can not say Ryanair were the most accommodating either. I was clearly anxious about travelling with them and they wouldn’t even check in an extra cabin bag for us to save me having to drag extra bags around whilst watching two kids on my own ????
