NextImg:I got pregnant at the same time as my mom — and gave birth 2 weeks apart

Mamma mia!

A mom and daughter from England became pregnant at the same time and gave birth to baby boys just two weeks apart in 2019.

In the spring of 2018, Melanie Warburton, 44, came home to tell her family that she was pregnant while daughter Keesha Warburton, 24, had news of her own.

“I came down the stairs with a pregnancy test in my hand and there was my mum with a scan in her hand,” Keesha told South West News Service.

“It was bonkers but amazing to go through pregnancy and giving birth with her.”

Melanie had recently had her tubes untied to be able to conceive again. Meanwhile, Keesha had recently recovered from the tragedy of stillbirth.

Now, the two boys are "best friends," Keesha explained.

On January 15, 2019, Melanie gave birth to son Grayson, who is her third child. Two weeks later, on January 29, her daughter was induced and gave birth to her first child, a baby boy named Carter.

“To get a little brother and have my own son at the same time was incredible,” Keesha gushed to SWNS.

The two pregnancies came as a bit of a surprise to both women.

Mom Melanie had her tubal ligation reversed to be able to conceive again with her husband, William Warburton, 36. Meanwhile, daughter Keesha and her partner, Callum Pearson, 23, who she had been with for six years, were healing from a previous pregnancy trauma.

“I had suffered a stillbirth previously so it was amazing having my mum telling me everything was normal or ok,” Keesha said. “She’d feel the baby move and then two weeks later I would.”

The pair even threw a joint baby shower.

The mom-daughter duo supported each other throughout their pregnancies — shopping for newborn essentials together and accompanying each other to doctor’s appointments. Naturally, they also threw a joint-baby shower with their friends and family.

Despite the happy time, they admitted there were some highs and lows. “It was wonderful but because of the hormones we both had we did rip into each other a few times,” Melanie said.

Now, the two little boys, each four years old, are “best friends,” and are more like “brothers” than uncle and nephew.

“The two boys now get on amazingly and have even worn matching outfits for Halloween,” Keesha said. “They had every milestone so close together.”

The kids spend a lot of time together, according to their moms.

After the birth of Carter, Keesha became pregnant again — with twins.

And in September, the two of them will start school together.

“It will be lovely,” Keesha gushed.

The two boys also have some more playmates in the family — after giving birth to Carter, Keesha found out that she was pregnant with twins two months later, and gave birth to them in 2020 in the same hospital room where she was born.
