NextImg:I caught my wife cheating with a mystery man on Ring doorbell cam — video surveillance isn’t stopping affairs

He put a Ring on it — then caught his wife ring-a-ding-dinging with her lover.

Cheaters never prosper. And thanks to the advent of sophisticated surveillance technologies such as the Ring video doorbell cameras — meant to offer homeowners real-time footage of visitors to their properties for security purposes — two-timers are failing to secretly carry out sexual flings behind their sweethearts’ backs.

In fact, busting an unfaithful philanderer via smart-home devices has become a viral phenomenon, seeing folks online share their horror stories of catching their partners in the act.

“Anyone got one of these doorbells? Be warned as it’s just put an end to my mate’s marriage,” an anonymous man vented in a bulletin on IllicitEncounters — a UK-based dating site for married people.

The guy explained that his pal screened a disturbing video of a mystery man approaching his front door, only to receive an overly warm welcome from his lustful wife.

She was having an affair.

“[I] can’t believe how stupid she was to do it on her own doorstep,” the man lamented. “Ring should be banned LOL.”

In response, cyber critics commented with outrage, saying, “Who in their right mind [cheats] but does it their own home? Are they mad !!!!!!,” and “The disrespect to have an affair using the marital home, that’s a crossing of the line for me and shows contempt towards her husband!.”

Jessica Leoni, a sex & relationships expert at IllicitEncounters, told The Post that innovations like front-door monitors are helping couples uncover ugly truths about their significant others.

Leoni told The Post that suspicious spouses have used Ring and other technologies to monitor their sneaky partners.

“Technology, including AI, is having a serious impact on all aspects of our lives — and that includes relationships and cheating,” said Leoni. “Our user forums, which are used by thousands of members, are a supportive safe space to help inform people that might be considering an affair — and this post is a great example.”

“Whilst home surveillance’s primary objective is to offer an extra layer of protection on your property,” she added, “it seems that some people are using the technology to work out whether their partner has been unfaithful.”

Leoni notes, however, that eagle-eye equipment like the Ring isn’t the only technology that’s tattling on hot-to-trot adulterers.

The expert says surveillance cameras, cell phones and various forms of AI have become popular ways to catch a cheating husband or wife.

“There has been a noticeable rise in video doorbells helping to catch cheaters in the act,” she said, “but there’s also smart speakers, smart watches and even old-fashioned phone messages that can lead a digital trail back.”

“Alexa playlist history can determine whether ‘sexy songs’ have been played in the home, whilst GPS in fitness watches can show whether your partner has really been working out at the gym,” continued Leoni.

“Then, of course, flirty messages on your other half’s phone could also be a dead giveaway.”

And she’s right.

Across social media, men and women have revealed that high-tech tools have helped them catch their unfaithful darlings in the act.

An October 2023 survey found that a large number of double-crossers who engage in dalliances with coworkers are caught by their spouses thanks to eye-spy mechanics.

Back in April, TikTok influencer Kayla Gardner virally nailed her disloyal boyfriend after she unwittingly spotted him cheating while scrolling through security camera recordings on a cruise ship. And in June 2022, Ring doorbell footage aided a woman in fingering her child’s father for sneaking his mistress out of their home

The threat of getting exposed by whistle-blowing electronics notwithstanding, Leoni says infidelity remains at an all-time high.

“The prevalence of such affair-busting technology doesn’t seem to be affecting those who are cheating as the number of people undertaking affairs continues to rise,” she said before offering false-hearted freaks a word of advice.

“If you are [fooling around],” said Leoni, “we advise people to consider whether they’ve really covered up their digital tracks.”
