NextImg:Hunter’s Easy Plea Deal: Letters to the Editor, June 24, 2023

It is beyond comprehension how anyone could possibly believe a single word coming out of any Democrat’s mouth (“Favored son: Half of US,” June 23).

In the Donald Trump years, all we heard from the left was that “no one is above the law.” Yet Hillary Clinton was never prosecuted for her crimes, the “big guy” will never be prosecuted for his crimes, and now Hunter (the darling of the Department of Justice) has been basically granted a free pass for his crimes.

We all know that any average American would have been sent off to jail without a moment’s notice. Yet Hunter gets special treatment from worthless Attorney General Merrick Garland.

There is no doubt that this country is heading down the road to ruin when there are two sets of laws, a feeble-minded old man in the White House, a giggling, cackling imbecile a heartbeat away from the launch codes, a butt-kissing lackey Senate majority leader and a Department of Justice that doesn’t know the meaning of bipartisanship.

And they say that Trump is the bad guy!

If I remember correctly, news reports about the firearm that was at the heart of the Hunter Biden gun charge revealed that it was a .38 caliber revolver.

In the infamous laptop photo, naked Hunter is pictured holding a semi-automatic.

That is, it apparently isn’t the same gun that he’s charged with lying about on the federal firearms form.

So: Whose gun was it? Whatever happened to it? Was a federal firearms form filled out for its purchase? Did Hunter have a permit to possess it? If not, then why wasn’t he charged for that gun, too?

Had Hunter been charged for illegally possessing the semi-automatic, then it would have been difficult (if not impossible) for him to be granted a diversion over lying on the form about the revolver.

And it likely would have been impossible for him to avoid going to prison.

Who says crime doesn’t pay?

Hunter Biden’s plea deal, which should be called a plea steal, is more like a tap on the shoulder than a slap on the wrist.

He gets the equivalent of a parking ticket for committing crimes that put other people (whose last name isn’t Biden) behind bars.

His “punishment” is an insulting travesty. DOJ really stands for “Destruction of Justice.”

Hunter’s photo with a gun sets a very bad example for those unfamiliar with the most basic gun-safety rule.

When holding any firearm, the index finger is always kept straight over the trigger guard unless sighted and ready to fire. Even in a combat situation, the index finger must be straight to avoid accidental discharge from slight movements or brushing of the weapon.

I guess that Hunter’s shooting expertise is on par with his vast knowledge of international energy, art and parenting.

The free pass issued to Hunter Biden should infuriate all Americans who pay their taxes on time.

Coupled with the Burisma payoffs and the numerous other scandals, we have a witches’ brew of criminal activity. It all goes unpunished as the Biden cabal keeps the wheels of justice stagnant in the DC swamp.

Our descent as a nation continues unabated with the shameful behavior of President Biden and his feckless Department of Justice. This prez makes Richard Nixon look like a saint.

I wish my last name were Biden. I’ve had worse outcomes from speeding tickets.

It’s blatantly obvious the whole family has been running a grift on their famous name.

This isn’t only a Biden issue, though. This is the fruit of our two-tiered justice system of the rich versus the poor.
