NextImg:Hunter Renfrow visits Raiders with potential NFL comeback looming

Hunter Renfrow’s NFL return could come in a familiar place.

The former Pro Bowl wide receiver is attempting comeback this season and is set to meet with his former team, the Raiders, on Friday, according to NFL Network.

Renfrow, who played for Las Vegas from 2019-2023 before taking a year off from the field, also sat down with the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday as another NFL return option.

The 29-year-old likely wants to prove that his sole Pro Bowl year wasn’t a fluke.

Renfrow was selected by the Raiders in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Clemson, where he won national championships in 2016 and 2018.

The Myrtle Beach, South Carolina native had a breakout season in 2021 — he caught 103 passes for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns across 17 games and nine starts — that led to his sole Pro Bowl nod.

But his highest high came crashing down when his 2022 season was plagued by injuries.

Renfrow suffered a concussion early in the season and later was sidelined again due to an oblique injury. He finished the year with 36 receptions for 330 receiving yards and just two touchdowns.

The downward spiral only continued in 2023 as Renfrow had 25 catches for 255 yards in 17 games.

He was released after the start of free agency last offseason and went unsigned.

Renfrow could find himself back with the Raiders, who currently have Jakobi Meyers as the top option for new quarterback Geno Smith.
