Hugh Jackman’s estranged wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, is finally speaking out.
Nearly two years after their separation, Furness filed for divorce from the “Greatest Showman” actor — and broke her silence on “the traumatic journey of betrayal” in a lengthy statement.
The 69-year-old told the Daily Mail on Tuesday that their split is “a profound wound that cuts deep.”
She noted, “However, I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.
“This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage,” Furness continued, adding that she has “gained much knowledge and wisdom.”
Furness believes “apparent adversity” can lead to someone’s “greatest good” and “true purpose.”

She wrote, “It can hurt, but in the long run, returning to yourself and living within your own integrity, values and boundaries is liberation and freedom.”
The actress, who “remain[s] grateful,” concluded by insisting “none of this is personal.”
She explained, “We are all on our individual journeys and I believe that the relationships in our lives are not random. We are drawn to people, we invite them in, in order to learn our lessons and to recognize and heal the broken parts of ourselves.”
Jackman’s rep has yet to respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The statement marked Furness’ first time speaking out since her 2023 separation from Jackman, who went public with girlfriend Sutton Foster the following year.
One of Furness’ friends did, however, make headlines in November 2024 for calling affair rumors “on point” via Instagram.
“My beloved friend Deb is about to have her glow up any moment FYI!” British actress and photographer Amanda de Cadenet wrote at the time.
The “Wolverine” star, 56, and Foster, 50, met co-starring in “The Music Man” on Broadway and were recently photographed moving the actress’ belongings into Jackman’s New York City penthouse.
New Idea reported Tuesday that Furness is “shattered” — and “concerned” Jackman is moving too fast.
Jackman and Furness wed in April 1996 and welcomed son Oscar, now 25, and daughter Ava, now 19, during their time together.
The “Younger” alum, for her part, is the mother of daughter Emily, 8, with ex-husband Ted Griffin.
