How to watch tonight's Knicks-Celtics game live: start time, live stream info, odds, best bets, more

Live from TD Garden, the 2024-2025 NBA season begins as the Boston Celtics host the New York Knicks on TNT and Max!
Is it too early to call tonight’s matchup a preview of the Eastern Conference Finals? The Celtics and Knicks are two teams with championship aspirations. New York ended their 23-24 campaign with a 50-32 regular season record and a heartbreaking second-round loss to the Indiana Pacers. The Knicks reloaded in the offseason, adding Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns to a talented roster that already includes Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, and Josh Hart.
How’d the Celtics do last year? Not too shabby, I guess. They had the best regular season record (64–18) and ended the year with an NBA championship. Will history repeat itself? The journey to a repeat begins tonight.

Odds: Celtics -5.5 O/U 223.5
23-24 Stats: The Celtics won the regular season series 4-1, and the total went under tonight’s number in three out of five games. Josh Hart has scored 16 points in three of his last four games against Boston. Jalen Brunson has scored 26, 23, 34, and 39 points in his last four games against the Celtics. Al Horford has scored 12, 18, 21, 19, and 13 points in his last five games against the Knicks.
Best Bets: One of my favorite NBA handicappers, Prop Bet Guy, expects Luke Kornet to see more minutes with Porzingis out. Kornet was one of my favorite late-season plays during the end of the 23-24 regular season. Prop Guy Bets likes over 9.5 points and rebounds (-122 on FanDuel) and I think over 5.5 points at +102 (FD) is a solid play.
A secondary Porzingis injury play is Sam Hauser at over 6.5 points, but he’s as streaky as the day is long. Another trusted gambler, Alex Caruso (probably not the one who plays for the Thunder), likes Towns over 2.5 assists.
Other bets worth considering:
Prediction: The Celtics will hang banner number 18 and exit opening night with a hard-fought victory over the new-look Knicks.
