One team’s season will end and another will punch its ticket to the ALCS when the Detroit Tigers and the Seattle Mariners clash in a winner-takes-all Game 5 tonight.
The Mariners took a two-game lead following Game 3 of the series earlier this week, but Detroit made a statement and forced Game 5 with a big 9-3 win in Wednesday’s Game 4.
The Tigers will turn to their ace, Tarik Skubal, for the second Game 5 in two years; last year, the Tigers’ season ended in that game. Skubal is also 0-2 against the Mariners this year.
The winner of tonight’s game will head to Canada for Game 1 of the ALCS against the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday, Oct. 12.
Here’s how to tune in to Game 5 of the ALDS between the Mariners and the Tigers without cable.
Game 5 of the ALDS between the Tigers and Mariners will start at 8:08 p.m. ET tonight, Oct. 10.
If you don’t have cable, you’ll need a live TV streaming service to stream the MLB playoffs for free. One option we love is DIRECTV, which comes with a five-day free trial and starts at $59.99/month for genre packs, with plenty of subscription options and genre packs that include FS1.
The Tigers vs. Mariners game will also stream live on FOX ONE and fuboTV; both have free trials before payment begins.
As mentioned above, Tarik Skubal will start for Detroit. The Tigers’ ace previously started Game 2 of the series; he pitched seven innings and allowed two runs in the win. During the regular season, he went 13-6 with a 2.21 ERA.
George Kirby, who started Game 1 of the series for the Mariners, will be back on the mound tonight. Kirby is 10-8 in the regular season with a 4.21 ERA.
