For the first time in nine years, a Game 7 will decide the NBA Finals.
The Oklahoma City Thunder took a 3-2 series lead over the Indiana Pacers in Game 5, but in Game 6, the Pacers came back in a big way. Even with their best player playing through an injury, the Pacers toppled the Thunder 108-91.
Obi Toppin scored a team-high 20 points and Andrew Nembhard added 17 in the win. Down by 30 points going into the fourth quarter, Oklahoma City pulled their starters, including MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Now, it all comes down to tonight’s Game 7. The Pacers could become the biggest preseason long shot to win the NBA Finals since at least 1985, per Sports Odds History, but the Thunder are still favored in tonight’s game.
