NextImg:How to watch the New York Rangers in Round 2 of the 2024 NHL Playoffs

After a quick first round, the New York Rangers’ quest for the Stanley Cup continues as the second round of the 2024 NHL Playoffs kicks off.

It only took four games for the Rangers to sweep the Washington Capitals in the first round. The Broadway Blueshirts will now face the Carolina Hurricanes, who beat the New York Islanders in five games.

The two teams are familiar rivals, having last faced off in the second round of the playoffs in 2022 — the series went to seven games that ended with the Rangers advancing to the Eastern Conference final.

During that 2022 series, Rangers center Vincent Trocheck, whose career-high in points and high faceoff win percentage has been pivotal to the Rangers’ success this season, was on the ice — as a Hurricane. This series, which he views as “just another series” will be the first time he faces his former team in the playoffs.

It all starts today, May 5, at 4:00 p.m. ET. Below, we’ve broken down all the ways to watch every game of this second-round playoff series between the Rangers and Hurricanes.

The New York Rangers’ first-round games will air on ESPN (Game 1 and 2), TNT (Games 3 and 4), and truTV (Games 3 and 4). See the schedule below for more on when and where these games are airing.

Following the conclusion of this series, the winner will face the winner of the Florida vs. Boston series in the Eastern Conference final.

If you don’t have cable, there are a few streaming services you’ll need to subscribe to before you can watch every game of the Rangers’ playoff run.

The easiest, most cost-effective way to stream TNT or TBS games during 2024 NHL Playoffs without cable is with a Max subscription. Max starts at $9.99/month, and all three plans (up to $19.99/month) currently come with the Bleacher Report Sports add-on, which you’ll need to watch these games live

You can also get all of the necessary networks for these games on the following live TV streaming services: Sling TV (either base plan), DIRECTV Stream, and Hulu + Live TV.

If you don’t have cable, the only way to stream the NY Rangers playoff games on ESPN is with a live TV streaming service. The following services include ESPN:

Unfortunately, ESPN+ will not be carrying live ESPN network games until the conference finals (third round).

While you won’t be able to stream the full series, you can get three days of Hulu + Live TV for free, five days of DirectTV Stream free, or seven days of fuboTV for free.
