“Friends” star Matthew Perry was a beloved actor, comedian and cast-mate, but his untimely passing sparked a criminal investigation.

The heartbreaking case is the subject of an original movie, “Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy,” featuring Morgan Fairchild, who played his mother on “Friends,” and interviews with law enforcement experts discussing the ongoing trial.

Five defendants, including his personal assistant, two medical doctors, and a woman dubbed Hollywood’s “Ketamine Queen” were charged in connection with the “The Whole Nine Yards” star’s 2023 death at age 54. Of the five, three pleaded guilty, and the remaining two are still pending trial.

The hour-long documentary debuts on Feb. 25, 2025.

In his memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and The Big Terrible Thing,” Perry detailed his story of battling addiction and his subsequent recovery.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office autopsy report, his cause of death was the “acute effects of ketamine” and subsequent drowning.
