The undefeated Air Force Falcons head east to take on the Navy Midshipmen today, October 20.
It’s the first game in this year’s race for the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy, which is awarded yearly to the winner of the three-game series played between the football teams at the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, and U.S. Air Force Academy.
The Air Force Falcons enter this game as the defending Commander-in-Chief trophy holders, but they’re also 6-0 this season so far. In fact, the Falcons haven’t lost a game since this weekend of college football last year, so a win against Navy would extend their win streak to 12 games.
The Navy Midshipmen are 3-3 this season, and come into today’s game hoping to extend their current win streak to three games.
Since 1972, the two teams have played each other every year — in the overall series, Air Force has the edge, winning 30 matchups to Navy’s 21 wins.
