Gwyneth Paltrow is in court over a 2016 skiing accident after she was accused of hitting another skier in Park City, Utah, leaving him with serious injuries.

The Shakespeare in Love star is being sued by Terry Sanderson, who claims Paltrow was skiing “out of control” at the Deer Valley Resort when she crashed into him, “knocking him down hard, knocking him out, and causing a brain injury, and four broken ribs and other serious injuries,” per CNN.

Sanderson also alleges that Paltrow skied away after hitting him. He’s now seeking $300,000 in damages after previously asking for $3.1 million.

Paltrow, however, is countersuing Sanderson, claiming he was the one who ran into her, as reported by The New York Times. She is claiming Sanderson is “using her fame to get her to ‘pay him millions,'” the outlet reports. Paltrow is seeking $1, as well as attorneys’ fees.

Paltrow has cemented her status as one of the more controversial stars of today (from her jade egg advice to her recent bone broth diet reveal, she’s constantly riling up the internet, to put it lightly).
