As one Apple TV+ drama begins to wind down, another is just getting started.
Dope Thief, a new crime drama, premiered today, March 14, with two episodes. It’s based on the novel of the same name by Dennis Tafoya and was created by Peter Craig, who received an Oscar nomination in 2023 for co-writing Top Gun: Maverick.
Craig isn’t the only major Hollywood talent behind Dope Thief, though; prolific director Ridley Scott was behind the camera for the pilot episode, too.
Dope Thief follows two lifelong friends (Brian Tyree Henry and Wagner Moura), who pose as DEA agents in Philadelphia with the intention to rob small-time drug dealers, but their plan goes off the rails when they choose the wrong mark and end up as the targets of a much larger narcotics empire.
If you’re reading this, at least two episodes of Dope Thief are already streaming on Apple TV+. The new series premiered on March 14. New episodes will continue to air weekly on Fridays through April 25.
Apple TV+ will often release new episodes the night before their listed premiere dates so it’s likely you’ll be able to watch new episodes of Dope Thief as early as 9:00 p.m. ET on Thursday nights.
Dope Thief airs exclusively on Apple TV+, so you’ll need a subscription to watch the new episodes as they drop.
Apple TV+ offers a seven-day free trial for users, so you’ll be able to watch a few episodes (depending on when you subscribe) before the $9.99/month payments kick in.
As we noted above, Apple TV+ often drops episodes the evening before the listed release date; below, see all of the episodes with their listed release dates, but remember, you may be able to watch the episodes early.
