Former President Donald Trump is making history today as the first POTUS to be indicted. Trump, who pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records today, was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury last week and arrived in New York City Tuesday for his hearing.
The criminal charges Trump is facing are connected to hush money payments to two women, including adult film star Stormy Daniels, before the 2016 election, per NBC News.
While Trump is making headlines for his indictment, the former president still has plenty to say himself — he’s still running for office in 2024, after all.
While his campaign declined to reveal what, exactly, he’ll be saying in a speech he plans to deliver after Tuesday’s arraignment, a source told Reuters Trump will likely focus on “the political weaponization of the justice system to manipulate an election.”
Since it sounds like Team Trump is remaining pretty tight-lipped, we’ll have to wait until later to see what he says.
Here’s everything you need to know to watch Trump’s indictment speech, including when, what time and how to tune in.
Trump is expected to speak live from Mar-a-Lago tonight, Tuesday, April 4. He is expected to fly back from New York City to be in Florida to deliver his remarks.
Trump’s office said he would be delivering his remarks at 8:15 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 4, per Reuters.
You’ve got a few options to watch Trump’s post-arraignment speech, and lucky for you, they’re free. Catch Trump’s remarks on the PBS News YouTube Channel or LiveNOW FOX YouTube Channel, both of which are offering livestreams starting at 8:15 p.m. ET tonight.
C-SPAN will also broadcast the speech on cable, plus its website and radio station.
