It’s week two of the 2023 college football season, and after a win at home last week, the Penn State Nittany Lions are looking to repeat that success again today, September 9, when the University of Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens head up north.
No matter the outcome, the matchup is one for the record books, as the Nittany Lions have never faced the Blue Hens in the 136-year history of their football program.

Kickoff for the Delaware-Penn State football game is set for 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, September 9.
The only place to watch today’s matchup between Penn State and Delaware is on Peacock. The game is one of nine Big Ten football games that will be broadcast exclusively on Peacock.
That means you won’t be able to watch the game on any cable channel or live TV streaming service — just Peacock.
Luckily for you, Peacock is a fairly inexpensive streaming service; even the service’s cheapest plan includes live access to the game.
Peacock Premium costs $6/month with ads and $12/month without ads, but since the football game is technically live TV, ads will play no matter what plan you’re subscribed to.
The Penn State Nittany Lions and Delaware Blue Hens will face off at Beaver Stadium in University Park, PA, Penn State’s home turf.
As noted above, this is the first time in the history of either football program that the two teams will meet — both universities’ football programs date back to the late 1800s.
Penn State and Delaware both won their week one games against West Virginia and Stony Brook, respectively.
Last week’s match for Penn State helped cement a few key lineup decisions: coming off his first career start, sophomore Drew Allar will continue on as the Nittany Lions’ starting QB and junior KeAndre Lambert-Smith will play as the team’s WR1.
Delaware’s starting QB will also be making only his second career start after last week’s game. Ryan O’Connor threw for 346 yards and a touchdown against Stony Brook.
The game is also Penn State’s annual THON awareness game. According to the team’s website, “THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the country bringing awareness to pediatric cancer and raising funds for the Four Diamonds Fund.”
