The second game of tonight’s Thursday Nights with the W doubleheader on Prime Video is between the Connecticut Sun and the Phoenix Mercury.
Both teams are coming into this matchup off of Tuesday night wins; a win tonight could extend the Sun’s streak to four games while the Mercury could make it two in a row.
WNBA Week 9 Power Rankings have the 21-7 Connecticut Sun sitting at third, which is also their place in the overall WNBA rankings right now. Phoenix is ranked lower, at 11 (of 12), but WNBA legend Diana Taurasi is back after a few missed games due to injury and team points leader Brittney Griner will play after sitting out the team’s last road trip for mental health reasons.
The only time these teams have met so far this season ended in a 72-66 victory for the Phoenix Mercury.
