NextImg:How to watch ‘Citadel’: Everything to know about Prime Video’s new series

We’re not even halfway through the year, and Prime Video is already going for a grand slam of conversation-starting, widely popular original series.

After “Daisy Jones & The Six,” “Swarm,” and season 5 of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” all made waves, “Citadel” is the next star-studded series to premiere on the streamer.

Set eight years after the fall of the Citadel spy organization, former agent Mason Kane (Richard Madden) is contacted by Citadel comms-and-tech expert Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci) about a growing threat from the syndicate that led to Citadel’s initial downfall.

The only problem is that in the aftermath of Citadel’s destruction, all of the agents that survived, including Kane and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), had their memories wiped completely. “Citadel” also stars Lesley Manville as a British ambassador to the United States, Dahlia Archer.

The globe-spanning, action-packed spy series comes from Amazon Studios and AGBO, the production company founded by Joe and Anthony Russo (best known for their work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe). It’s also described as a series with an emotional core and is poised for a number of international spinoffs.

Wondering how you can check out “Citadel,” how many episodes are in the series, and when do those new episodes come out? We’re making it easy for you — read on for all of the details.

“Citadel” premieres this Friday, April 28, exclusively on Prime Video.

Prime Video’s typical release model has new episodes hitting the service at midnight GMT, which means that you’ll be able to check out “Citadel” as early as 8 p.m. ET on Thursday evenings, despite the official release day being Friday.

As we noted above, “Citadel” is exclusive to Prime Video, so you’ll need an Amazon Prime membership to check out the new series. Amazon Prime costs $14.99/month and comes with a number of perks, including Prime Video, free two-day shipping, deals at Whole Foods, and a free year of Grubhub+.

If you just want Prime Video, without any of the other Prime features, you can sign up for a standalone subscription for $8.99/month. Both Amazon Prime and standalone Prime Video come with a 30 day free trial.

Season 1 of “Citadel” will have six episodes. We’ve listed them below, along with premiere dates:
