NextImg:How to stream Alec Baldwin's involuntary manslaughter trial live

Alec Baldwin‘s day in court has finally arrived. The actor’s involuntary manslaughter trial commenced this week — nearly three years after the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Hutchins was killed during rehearsal on the set of Baldwin’s ill-fated Western movie Rust when a prop gun he was holding went off, injuring director Joel Souza and fatally shooting Hutchins. The film’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter earlier this year and is currently serving an 18-month sentence in a New Mexico state prison.

Baldwin, for his part, has pleaded not guilty to the charges. While the prosecutors accused him of playing “make-believe with a real gun” during their opening statements, his defense insisted that the weapon was deemed “cold,” per CNN, meaning it was believed to contain no live rounds.

So, when did Baldwin’s trial start? And is there a way to watch it all unfold live? Luckily, we have the answers to all your burning questions.

Keep reading for more information.

Baldwin is being charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter for his role in Hutchins’ tragic death. If convicted, he could face up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine, according to CNN. Either way, the new TLC series focusing on him, his wife Hilaria Baldwin and their seven children is still moving forward.

Baldwin’s trial kicked off on Tuesday, July 9 with jury selection. Both sides presented their opening arguments on Wednesday, July 10. The judge assigned to the case reportedly hopes to finish the trial by next Friday (July 19).
