The Giants could have used the No. 6 pick in the draft on quarterback Daniel Jones’ successor — and they made attempts to trade up for Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels — but ultimately opted to go with receiver Malik Nabers rather than forcing a fake conviction in available quarterbacks Michael Penix Jr., Bo Nix or J.J. McCarthy.

There was Nabers — not Rome Odunze, another dynamic receiver the Giants easily could have targeted instead of Nabers had they been scared off by the scouting reports that Nabers might not react well to adversity — with two scores against the Browns.
