SAN FRANCISCO — The Liberty’s title defense officially begins in less than two weeks.

How valiant of a fight they will put up will be fascinating to see.

The Liberty up to this point haven’t played like a championship-caliber team. Their defensive chemistry has been hampered by injuries to several key players, but the best teams find ways to win in the face of adversity.
