It’s safe to say that Dave Portnoy is not a professional sports bettor.
And when things are going bad, that can lead to dreaded second-guessing.
“I was so confident the Bills would beat the Cowboys I switched my bet to Dallas only to watch the same old Cowboys. Dak sucks. Stupid Penalties. Dumb coaching,” Portnoy said on X. “They suck. Kick them outta the league.”
The Bills were a slight favorite over the Cowboys on Sunday in a rain-filled game that saw Buffalo cruise to a 31-10 victory.
“So it’s the same old Cowboys. Got it. I hate myself,” the self-deprecating Portnoy posted on X after James Cook snagged a touchdown catch early in the second quarter to put the Bills ahead, 14-0.
The day seemed to end on a high note, though, as Taylor Swift was seen in a video drinking High Noon in a video in her suite for the Chiefs-Patriots game.
“I had worst day ever gambling today. Lost my shirt. Made up for it by @taylorswift13 drinking @nooners when the cameras aren’t on,” he posted on X.
High Noon is a vodka-seltzer beverage that Barstool Sports helps advertise.
Portnoy also appeared to be upset with the Cowboys’ pregame dance moves before getting waxed in the pivotal game.
“I f–king hate these guys,” he posted after seeing the Cowboys pregame dance.
Portnoy was also on a social media rampage earlier in the day, attacking the Packers for having a terrible defense. It is reasonable to suspect that Portnoy had a bet on Green Bay, who lost as home favorites on Sunday.
“The Packers’ defense celebrating every single play while simultaneously getting shredded may be the most infuriating thing I’ve ever witnessed,” Portnoy said.
Portnoy’s gambling season can be summed up like this: He can’t figure the Bills out.
The Barstool founder lost a big bet on Buffalo earlier this season, a game the Bills blew to the Eagles in overtime, and claimed to retire from gambling.
Naturally, that didn’t last long, ending his gambling retirement, and he claimed to be preparing a $1 million bet on the Michigan Wolverines against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
