That’s what big sisters are for.
Olivia Culpo supported her younger sister, Sophia Culpo, “every step of the way” after her public split with Dolphins receiver Braxton Berrios in March.
“I just told her that this will all pass and someday you’ll look back on this and be so proud of the strength that you had to get through the hardest moments,” Olivia told E! News ahead of the David Dobrik x CELSIUS pickleball tournament on August 25.
“And it’s funny because now she is in that place and we can look back and think, ‘Thank god that happened.’
“In the moment it’s so hard to have that idea, but I really do think everything works out the way it’s supposed to and you learn lessons you’re supposed to through the hard moments.”
Olivia — who got engaged to San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey in April — explained the challenges of going through a breakup in the public eye.
“I was definitely there for her every step of the way, as you have to be because it’s so hard,” the Miss Universe 2012 winner said, “especially in the public eye and with so many opinions and social media is so toxic.”
Sophia, 26, confirmed in a social media post in March that she and Berrios, 27, split after two years together.
In an Instagram Q&A the next month, the model said her relationship with the NFL player ended in betrayal.
“I haven’t addressed this because it’s been really hard to come to terms with and process,” Sophia said at the time. “I’ll say that it didn’t end well or honestly.
“A lot of trust was broken. But I have an amazing support system and I appreciate everyone’s love & support so, so much. This community never fails to amaze me.”
Sophia, who said the split took a toll on her, added that she isn’t “one to air out a bunch of dirty details.”
As for Berrios?
The NFL player addressed his split from Sophia in a video posted to his Instagram Story in June.
Berrios said in part how he and Sophia split in January after they “had conversations along the lines of we just weren’t working out.”
That’s when Sophia claimed in a since-deleted TikTok post that she and Berrios broke up after the Drake concert during Super Bowl weekend in February.
“The real timeline,” Sophia alleged. “We broke up after the Drake concert Super Bowl weekend where he was seen making out with another girl.”
Around that time, Berrios was linked to influencer and TikTok star Alix Earle.
Berrios and Earle were seen together on a number of occasions following his split from Sophia.
They attended the ESPY Awards together in July, and posed for photos on the red carpet.
Earle, 22, said in a TikTok Live video earlier this month that her relationship with Berrios was casual.
“Me and Braxton are good! There is no tea,” she said. “We’re just not super serious. We didn’t want that for the summer.
“Braxton and I are still talking, yes, but just casually.”
Berrios, who signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins after his release from the Jets in March,
